Configure 3D Repo Lite on an Asite Project

This article helps you understand how to configure 3D Repo Lite on an Asite project.

Asite 3D Repo Lite allows you to view 3D model files in its 3D Repo viewer. It offers fast streaming and rendering for heavy model files. If you would like to use and enable 3D Repo Lite on your Asite projects, contact your Asite Professional Services Consultant.

The following are the steps to configure 3D Repo Lite on an Asite project:

  1. Create a project in the Asite platform.

  2. Once the project is created, right-click on the project and select 'Edit Project Information'.

  3. Navigate to the 'Project Settings' Tab, scroll down to the '3DREPO Lite' option and select 'Yes'.

  4. You will be given fields to fill in the API Key and Teamspace name (from 3D Repo).

  5. To get your user Api key from 3D Repo, go to 3D Repo and click on the user profile icon, which will redirect to 3D Repo profile page.

  6. Please select the ‘Integrations’ tab. Here, you can see your API key.

  7. Copy that and paste it into the Asite Project settings’ 3DREPO lite’ API key box

  8. Another box is for the TeamSpace name, where you must write or copy the exact name of the 3Drepo TeamSpace.

  9. Once both boxes are filled, select the 'Validate' button.

  10. You should get a message called “TeamSpace exists in 3D Repo.”.

  11. Now you are ready for the 3D Repo Lite feature.

  12. In addition, you will see another option with a check box.

  13. By default, it should be unticked. Once the checkbox is selected and your project settings are saved, all the uploaded files in CDE will be pushed to 3D Repo for processing.
