The Short Contract is a simplified version of the ECC and is ideal for use on low-risk, low-complexity projects. It maintains the NEC principles of collaboration, clarity, and flexibility while reducing the administrative burden.
The key parties in the NEC4 Short Contract are:
Client
This is the organisation engaging the Contractor. The Client is responsible for administering the contract and directly undertakes responsibilities such as issuing instructions and accepting submissions.
Contractor
This is the organisation carrying out the works. The Contractor is responsible for delivering the works per the contract.
