File Preferences

This article will explain how to configure file preferences for your Asite account.

Once set, your file preference determines the default method used when creating files from templates.

aDrive Subscription

aDrive subscription for the project should be active before creating a file.

NOTE: If the aDrive subscription for a project is turned off, any attempt to create a file within that project and apply User Preference settings will result in those preferences being automatically reset to None.


How Do I Set My File Preference?

  1. Navigate to the User Preferences pop-up in your Asite account.

  2. In the User Preferences pop-up, click File Preferences from the left-hand menu.

  3. Under File Preferences, select your preferred option for creating files from templates:

    • aDrive – create files using Asite aDrive.

    • Microsoft 365 Web – create files using Microsoft 365 Online.

      NOTE: Users do not start with a default file preference selected. However, once a preference is chosen, one option must always remain selected. While you can switch between Microsoft 365 Web and aDrive, you cannot deselect both options.

  4. Click Submit to save and apply your selection.

Once saved, your selected option will be used as the default method when creating files from templates.
