Download Preferences

This article will explain how to set download preferences for your Asite account.

Once configured, these preferences determine how files are downloaded from Asite, including:

  • Documents

  • Associated references

  • File-naming conventions applied during download.


How Do I Configure Download Preferences for My Account?

  1. Navigate to the User Preferences pop-up in your Asite account.

  2. In the User Preferences pop-up, click Download Preferences from the left-hand menu.

  3. Select or clear the relevant checkboxes to define how files should be downloaded.

  4. Click Submit to save and apply the selected preferences.


Available Download Preference Options

Document Download Preferences

Field Name

Description

Parent Document

Downloads the selected/open file. Placeholder or paper documents cannot be downloaded.

Include XREF

Includes CAD reference files linked to the document.

Include Secondary File(s)

Includes linked secondary files in the download.


Discussions and Markups

Field Name

Description

Associated Documents

Includes documents associated within a Discussion. (Not applicable for Reviews).

Attached Documents

Includes documents attached directly within a Discussion. (Not applicable for Reviews).


Other Download Settings

Field Name

Description

Rename Files with Doc Ref

Renames the file using its Asite Document Reference.

Append Doc Title

Adds the document title to the file name.

Append Version No

Adds the version number to the file name.

Append Rev No

Adds the revision number to the file name.

Recreate Folder Structure in Zip / Download Location

Recreates the Asite folder structure when downloading multiple files and packages them into a ZIP file.
