Working with the Auto Calibration Tool

How Do I Calibrate a Floor Plan Using the Auto Calibration Tool?

  1. Select the required project.

  2. Navigate to the Field tab.

  3. Add a new location or select one from the existing locations.

    NOTE: The selected location must not have any pre-calibrated floor plans or sub-locations.

  4. Upload your floor plan.

  5. Select a file to upload (PDF Format only).

  6. After you select the file, click Upload.

    TIP:

    Alternatively, use the Add Drawing option (top-right) to upload your floor plan.

    NOTE: The Auto Calibration Tool only calibrates uncalibrated floor plans. Do not upload previously calibrated plans.

  7. Click the icon next to a location to open its drawing in the display area.

    • Locations with floor plans show an icon. The icon is green for calibrated plans and blue for uncalibrated plans.

  8. Click Calibration Mode (top right).

    • It might take a few seconds for the Calibration button to activate and turn blue.

  9. A calibration window will appear.

    NOTE: Once the floor plan is calibrated, sub-locations will be added.

  10. After the floor plan is calibrated, a pop-up appears allowing you to edit location names.

  11. Select a suggested name for a location or enter a name of your choice.

  12. Click Next to proceed to the next location.

  13. After you finish editing the names, click Save & Close at the bottom.

  14. Once complete, additional editing options will become available.

  15. From the left panel, select a sub-location (Room) to edit its name or click the delete icon next to it to remove it.

    TIP: Hovering over a sub-location in the left panel will highlight that specific area in the floor plan on the right.

  16. Use the Sort by button at the top to re-arrange sub-locations alphabetically or in reverse alphabetical order.

  17. Use the Undo/Redo option to manage changes.

  18. Adjust the zoom level using the Zoom In/Zoom Out buttons at the bottom right.

  19. Use the tools available in the side toolbar to further edit the layout.

    NOTE: Click a tool option to activate it and the icon will turn green, allowing you to use it.

    TIP: Hovering over any tool in the side toolbar displays its name and function.

    Available tools are:

Add Location

Add a new sub-location/room to the floor plan.

Edit Location

Allows you to recalibrate a specific location manually.
To edit a location manually:

  • Click Edit.

  • Select a location from the left panel.

  • The selected location will be highlighted and available for editing on the drawing.

  • Drag the points to adjust and recalibrate.

Merge Location

Merge two or more locations into a single location.

Split Location

Split a selected location into multiple locations.

Pan Mode

Navigate across the floor plan by dragging the view.

Delete

Remove a selected location.

Reset Zoom

Reset the zoom level of the floor plan view as needed.

Export

Export the floor plan.

Settings

Open additional settings to manage display and behaviour:

  • Hotkeys - Opens a pop-up displaying available keyboard shortcuts.

  • Versions - Displays the version history of the floor plan with dates.

  • Show Details - Displays image size details.

  • Show Helper Text - Displays helper text on the floor plan.

  • Greyscale Mode - Displays the floor plan image in greyscale.

Undo/Redo

Undo or redo recent actions.

11. After making changes, click Save Calibration at the bottom to save them.


Viewer Tool Options

Within the image viewer, there are various available options:

Left side Options

Option

Description

Toggle Left Panel

Displays or hides the viewer's side panel and includes:

  • Thumbnails: Displays preview images of each page. You can click a thumbnail to go directly to that page.

  • Outline: Displays the document outline (if available).

  • Layers: Displays different available layers on a drawing. Layers can be turned on or off using checkboxes.

View Controls

Allows you to adjust how the file is displayed.

  • Page Transition: Switch between Continuous or Page-by-Page view.

  • Page Orientation: Rotate drawings clockwise or counterclockwise.

  • Page Layout: Choose between Single page, Double Page, or Cover Facing Page view.

  • Enter Full Screen: View the drawing in full-screen mode.

Pan Mode

Allows you to scroll across the file.

Zoom Percentage

Displays the current zoom percentage of the drawing.

Zoom Out

Decreases the zoom level.

Zoom In

Increases the zoom level.

Save

Saves the changes made during calibration.

Select

Allows you to select elements from the drawing.


Right Side Options

Option

Description

Show ID

Displays the IDs of all location-enabled forms with the drawing.

Show Form Code

Displays the form codes of all location-enabled forms associated with the drawing.

Manage Type

Allows you to manage existing location-enabled forms associated with the drawing.

Add Drawing

Allows you to add a new floor plan for calibration.

List View

Displays a list of all location-enabled forms.

Drawing View

Allows you to return to the drawing view from the list view.

Edit

Allows you to manually edit the floor plan.

Defect

Allows you to create new location-enabled forms associated with the drawing.

Hide

Clicking it will hide the calibration overlay and show the original drawing for comparison.

Menu

Available options:

  • Search: Allows you to search for a location by its name.

    • Enter the partial or full name to search for it.

  • Settings: Switch between dark and light theme modes using this option.
