Task Verification

This article will explain how Task Verification works in Playbook, how to configure it for a Task, and how completed Tasks are verified.

What Is Task Verification?

  • Task Verification is an optional feature that adds a verification stage after a Task has been completed.

  • When enabled, one or more Task Verifiers are assigned to review the completed Task and confirm that it meets the required standard before it is considered verified.

  • Task Verification provides an additional quality assurance step for Tasks that require formal review or approval before completion.

Required Permissions

Permission

Description

Can Verify Task

Allows a user to verify the completion of Tasks marked as Completed.

Users with this permission can verify any completed Task, regardless of whether they are assigned as a Task Verifier.

NOTE:

  • The Can Verify Task permission can be assigned to the Workspace Admin, Plan Manager, Package Owner, and Task Owner roles through the Permission Matrix.

  • Users assigned this permission can verify any completed Task without being selected in the Verifier field.

  • Users who do not have the Can Verify Task permission can verify a Task only if they have been explicitly assigned as a Verifier when the Task is created or edited.

How Do I Set Up Task Verification?

  1. Access the required Playbook Plan.

  2. Click the three-dot menu against a Package.

  3. Click + Create Task.

    • Alternatively, click three-dot menu against an existing Task.

    • Click Edit Task.

  4. On the Basic Details page, enable Require Verification?

  5. In the Verifier field, use the dropdown to select the user who will verify completion of the Task.

NOTE: The selected Task Verifier must have the Can Verify Task permission enabled.

TIP: Multiple Verifiers can be assigned to a Task. If more than one Verifier is selected, verification by the first Verifier is sufficient.

  6. Complete the remaining Task details.

TIP: For guidance on completing each Task stage, see the articles in the Tasks collection.

  7. Click Done.

    • If editing an existing Task, click Update.

How Do I Verify a Task?

NOTE: A Task can only be verified after it has been marked as Completed by the Task Owner. Only an assigned Task Verifier can verify it.

  1. Open the completed Task.

  2. Click Mark as Verified at the top of the Task window.

  3. The Task status will change to Verified and a verification check will appear.

How Do I Check Who Verified a Task?

  1. Open the required Task.

  2. Click View More Information.

  3. The Task audit trail will display who completed, verified, and locked the Task.
