View Previous Revisions of a File

This article will explain how to view and identify previous revisions of a file in your Asite project.

Updated over a week ago

View Revision History

  1. Select the project that contains the required file.

  2. Navigate to the Files tab.

  3. Locate and open the desired file in the viewer.

  4. At the top of the viewer, click the Revision dropdown to display a list of all previous file revisions.

Each entry shows the document reference, file status, revision number, and upload details; helping you trace the file's full version history.

Access Permissions

Files marked as Private are visible only to users with access rights.

If a previous revision is private and hasn't been shared with you, it will remain inaccessible unless you have Admin permissions for the folder containing that file.

Identifying Older Revisions

When you open a superseded revision, a notification appears at the top of the viewer:

"You are not viewing the latest version of this file".

This message indicates that a newer version exists. You can return to the latest revision at any time using the Revision dropdown.
