Publish Assembly or Product Files and Their Part Files

This article helps you understand how to publish assembly or product files, including their part files.

Updated over a month ago

The assembly files generate a geometry by assembling various part files. Hence, it is mandatory to publish part files within the assembly file.

1. To publish 3D files, navigate to the project and destination folder where 3D files are to be published. This option validates your permission to publish new files to the folder.

2. Click the 'Upload' button to publish files to the Asite platform. Choose one or more files from your local file explorer. Alternatively, you can also use the drag-and-drop option.

If you select the assembly file and try publishing it without attaching part files, it gives a prompt message.

Click 'Continue' to continue without the supported part files.

Clicking 'Cancel' takes you back to the previous layered screen with all the files listed and allows you to publish part files. You can attach the part file within each assembly file using the 'Choose File' button. If there are multiple part files, you must compress them as a single .zip or .rar file and then attach them.

3. Once done, click 'Upload' to publish the assembly file (and product file), their referenced part files, and other files if available. Once successfully published, it will appear in the files listing area.
