Connect any model open in Navisworks Manage to the Asite Cloud.
Export Clashes identified in Navisworks Manage as Issues on project models in Asite.
Attach native (locally saved) files in NWD and NWF format to any project model in Asite either as an attachment or a secondary file.

Synchronising Models to Autodesk Navisworks Manage from Asite
Once you have logged in through the plugin, a tab will appear on the right-hand side of your screen.
From the Project dropdown, select the relevant project.
Using the Model dropdown, choose the appropriate model that contains the required files.
Through the Revision dropdown, specify which revision you'd like to download.
Files from the selected federated model and revision will be displayed at the bottom along with related details (explained below).
The Customise button found at the bottom right of the tab allows you to choose what fields are displayed. To update, move items from Available Fields to Selected Fields as only the Selected Fields will appear.
NOTE: The first two fields (Syncing a Model π and Viewing a Model π) are always shown by default and cannot be changed, even if other fields are customised.
Syncing a Model π
The sync π icon shows the synchronisation status of your model file on your device:
Green sync π icon - changes made on your local device (while online) are automatically updated on the Asite platform.
Grey sync π icon - changes are not synced. To turn synchronisation on, click the grey sync π icon to turn it green.
NOTE: When you download a model onto Autodesk Navisworks Manage for the first time, the sync π icon will be grey by default until enabled.
Viewing a Model π
The eye π icon controls whether a synchronised model file is open or closed in Autodesk Navisworks Manage:
Eye on π - opens the synchronised model file.
Eye off π - closes the synchronised model file.
NOTE: Files that are not synchronised cannot be opened or closed using the eye π icon.
Understanding the Asite Plugin
Clashes to Issues
This tool enables you to export all Clashes identified in Navisworks Manage as Issues in your project model on Asite.
NOTE: If issues have already been created manually, you can skip the Clash Detective tool. Simply click Go to Issues to go directly to the Issue Manager. Click here to learn more about creating issues manually.
Clash Detective
The Clash Detective tool is a built-in feature that shows you all possible clashes between different models within a federated project.
It can be found in the Home tab on the Navisworks ribbon.
1. Upon clicking Clash Detective, a window will appear prompting you to select which disciplines to test against each other.
2. Select the disciplines and click Add Test (top right).
3. A new tab will open, showing the structures of each discipline. Choose whether to test at a child or parent level and give the test a name.
4. Select the elements you'd like to proceed with, then click Run Test (bottom).
5. All identified clashes will be displayed in a list view with related metadata columns.
6. To create a group, click New Group (above the Name column) and name it accordingly.
7. Return to the Asite tab in the Navisworks ribbon and click Clashes to Issues.
8. A tab will open allowing you to select which group to export. After making your selection, click Export.
9. Once the export is complete, a success message will be displayed.
(Optional)
Once the export is complete, a panel will appear on the right showing all clashes pushed to Asite's Issue Manager. Here, you can keep a record of issues, including visual references.
You can also create issues manually (without using Clash Detective) by clicking Create Issue. Fill in the required fields and click Submit to save the issue.
Attach NWD/NWF
Attach NWD/NWF opens a project model, converts it into a native NWD/NWF file, and then appends it to your federated model on Asite as an attachment.
The process is the same for both file types (NWD and NWF). The file will appear on the Model Attachments page on the Asite platform.
Load NWF
Load NWF allows you to bring in NWF files saved on the Asite platform to your model locally. This means you can quickly update your local Navisworks Manage session with the latest views, clash results and settings; including changes made by your colleagues.
1. Once a model is open in Navisworks Manage, click Load NWF.
2. A list of available NWF files (with date and time) will appear. Select the relevant NWF File and Navisworks Manage will load the corresponding session with its saved views and clash results on your local machine.
