Pre-requisites:

  • Privilege for saving a project as a project template, assigned to you by the Asite System Administrator.

Below are the steps to follow while saving the structure of an existing project as a project template:

1. Navigate to the 'Projects' tab. In the thumb view, mouse over the project thumbnail and click the icon.

A layered popup appears showing related options. Click 'Save Workspace As Template'.

Alternately, right-click on the project record in the list view and select 'Save Workspace As Template'.

2. The 'Create Template' popup appears.

Below is a description of the available fields:

Project Name - Name the new project template you are cloning from the selected project.

Client Name - Select the client organization (owner of the project template) from a list of organizations registered with Asite.

'Client Name' selected while creating a project template cannot be changed later once created even while creating a cloned project out of that template.

Application Installed - Inherited from the selected project, this field cannot be edited.

Select Viewer - Inherited from the selected project, this field cannot be edited.

Geography - To select the appropriate geography from the dropdown list.

Status - By default, it is open and cannot be changed until after creation.

Subscription - Inherited from the selected project, this field cannot be edited.

BIM - To enable BIM (Building Information Model) on the project template under creation.

3. Once done, click 'Save' to complete cloning the project from the selected project template.
