Configurable attributes are user defined attributes which can be applied to selected or all project folders based on configuration.
Pre-requisites:
Permission as mentioned below, on the project template in which configurable attributes are to be defined:
To manage the project template, 'Admin' permission assigned to you, your organization or a user group in which you are a member.
Below are the steps to define configurable attributes on a project template:
1. In 'Projects' area, navigate to the project template where configurable attributes need to be defined.
2. Right click on the required project template and select 'Edit' then select 'Configurable Attributes'.
Alternately, in the thumb view, do a mouse hover on the project template thumbnail and click on 
icon. A layered page opens. Click on 'Configurable Attributes'.
3. A layered screen appears with two different tabs - 'Attributes' and 'Attribute Sets'.
While in the 'Attributes' tab, click on 'Create New Attribute' link available at top right to create new attributes. Once created, those attributes can be applied to selected or all project template folders by creating an attribute set. Click on a link below to learn more:
