About aDrive Desktop
We are pleased to launch aDrive Desktop (CDE add-on) on April 20, 2025.
All users of the aSync Desktop tool will receive an app notification to upgrade to the new aDrive Desktop tool on April 20, 2025. You can continue to edit and synchronise files from your device to the cloud using the aDrive Desktop tool and edit files from the CDE web. We recommend that users back up their locally updated data to Asite Cloud before upgrading.

With this launch, we are renaming aSync Desktop to aDrive Desktop. aDrive Desktop is the next-generation tool for securely capturing, editing and storing your project data in the Cloud.
aDrive Desktop combines a Desktop integration tool for Windows/Mac OS + Microsoft Office 365 Connector with Live Editing of file content, all seamlessly integrated with Asite CDE.
With aDrive Desktop, you can optimise your project data management by combining local and cloud capabilities, ensuring seamless and efficient collaboration across your team.

**aDrive Desktop Professional version comes with a Download cap in TB per customer. Additional charges apply for each extra data downloaded above the limit. The data limit resets every year or at the renewal of the contract. Please contact our Customer Success Team at customersuccess@asite.com to upgrade your subscription.

Can I continue using my current aSync Desktop tool without upgrading to aDrive Desktop?
No. This is a mandatory upgrade. If you continue using aSync Desktop, you may be unable to upload new files or revisions or update any existing information, and you will be prompted to upgrade every time.
Should I uninstall the aSync Desktop tool on my computer?
No, you don't need to uninstall the aSync Desktop tool. All aSync Desktop tool users will receive an app notification to upgrade to the new aDrive Desktop tool on the 20th of April 2025.
How can I upgrade to aDrive Desktop Standard or aDrive Desktop Professional?
As mentioned in the pre-requisites above, you will need to have an active Asite CDE subscription, an aDrive Desktop add-on subscription, and a valid Microsoft Office 365 Business account, which is necessary for Microsoft Office 365 Connector Features. We recommend that users back up their locally updated data to Asite Cloud before upgrading.
All users of the aSync Desktop tool will receive an app notification to upgrade to the new aDrive Desktop tool on the 20th of April 2025. By default, you will be upgraded to the aDrive Desktop Standard version. Subscribe to the aDrive Desktop Professional version by contacting Asite Customer Success (customersuccess@asite.com).
You can continue to edit and synchronise files from your device to the cloud using the aDrive Desktop tool and edit files from the CDE web.
Once the new aDrive Desktop is installed on my computer, how do I begin using it?
If you use the Windows operating system, the aDrive Desktop will start automatically for the first time. However, you can open it from your Windows Apps menu anytime later.
If you use the Mac operating system, you must open the aDrive Desktop by going to your Mac Applications menu each time you need it. If the old aSync Desktop option still appears on your Mac sidebar, you may need to eject it using the appropriate right-click option.
Are all the aDrive Desktop features available in Windows and Mac operating systems?
Due to the limitations of the Mac operating system, some of the features applicable for the aDrive Desktop Professional version are unavailable in the Mac operating system. Below is a list of features unavailable in the Mac operating system:
