Responding to Project Invitations

This article explains how users can respond to a project invitation.

As part of managing projects, project administrators may need to invite existing project members to an existing or a new role, as well as invite new users outside of the project or the organization. On Asite, the 'User Invitations' option within projects enables administrators send project invitations to internal or external users, along-with an ability to assign them required project role once those users accept the invitation.

Invitee is registered on Asite

User can either accept or decline the invitation in such a scenario. Click on the relevant link below to continue:


User accepts the invitation

1. Upon accepting the invitation, invited user will be displayed a message as shown below:

The project user who had initiated the invitation will also receive an email notification acknowledging the invitation acceptance.

2. Now, invited user can login by entering their registered email address and password for their Asite account.

3. User will be navigated their Asite Dashboard screen as applicable.


User declines the invitation

1. Upon rejecting the invitation, invited user will be displayed a message as shown below:

The project user who had initiated the invitation will also receive an email notification acknowledging the invitation declined.


Invitee is not registered on Asite

User can either accept or decline the invitation in such a scenario.


User accepts the invitation

1. Upon accepting the invitation, invited user will be displayed a message as shown below:

The project user who had initiated the invitation will also receive an email notification acknowledging the invitation acceptance.

2. User needs to click on the link provided to create their new Asite account. It will open a form wherein user can enter their registration details including details of their organization.

3. Once user has registered through the sign up link in email, they should receive a separate email link to set a password for their Asite account.

4. Clicking the 'Set Password' link in email, user will get an option to set their Asite password.

5. Now, user can login by entering their registered email address and password for their Asite account. For the first time user logs in on Asite, user will need to agree to the Asite terms of use.

6. Depending on the matching organization as per domain name in the email address entered, user might be asked to select their organization from a given list. If user can't find their organization in the list, a new organization request can be placed using the button displayed at the bottom. Or else, use the 'Skip' button to continue without an organization if required.

7. User will then be navigated to their Asite Dashboard screen as applicable.


User declines the invitation

Upon rejecting the invitation, user will be displayed a message as shown below:

The project user who had initiated the invitation will also receive an email notification acknowledging the invitation declined.
