Break Inheritance of Objects in a Project

This article helps you understand how to break inheritance of objects in a project cloned from a project template.

Updated over a week ago

Important Note: Be careful while going ahead with breaking inheritance of any project/workspace object in your projects. Inheritance of project objects cannot be re-established once removed.

To break inheritance from a project template for any one or more of the workspace objects, turn the inheritance option off by removing the selected checkbox opposite that particular workspace object while editing a project.

Note:

  • Some of the checkboxes may show disabled due to interdependency of workspace objects. Those checkboxes will get enabled as soon as the selection of dependent workspace object is removed.

Similarly, to break inheritance from a project template for all workspace objects, turn the inheritance option off by removing the selected checkbox opposite the column title 'Inherit Changes' while editing a project.

Click 'Save' once done to apply the changes.
