Break Inheritance of Objects in a Project

This article helps you understand how to break inheritance of objects in a project cloned from a project template.

Updated over 3 weeks ago

Please be careful when you break the inheritance of any project/workspace object in your projects. Once removed, the inheritance of project objects cannot be re-established.

To break inheritance from a project template for any one or more of the workspace objects, turn the inheritance option off by removing the selected checkbox opposite that particular workspace object while editing a project.

Note:

  • Some of the checkboxes may appear disabled due to the interdependency of workspace objects. As soon as the selection of the dependent workspace object is removed, those checkboxes will be enabled.

Similarly, to break inheritance from a project template for all workspace objects, turn the inheritance option off by removing the selected checkbox opposite the column 'Inherit Changes' while editing a project.

Click 'Save' once done to apply the changes.
