aDrive Desktop facilitates seamless two-way synchronisation of files between your local working folder and the Asite web application, based on your configuration. To activate the '2-way Auto Sync' feature (i.e. automatic synchronisation from your local device storage to Asite Cloud and vice versa), contact your account manager or Asite Support.
Once you have activated the above feature for your account, you need to follow the steps to enable synchronisation and configure your local working folder in aDrive Desktop.
If two-way synchronisation of files is enabled, the files in the selected folder will be synchronised both ways. Any changes made in the working folder on your local system will be updated in the web application, and any changes made from the web application will be reflected in the working folder on your local system. Files will be downloaded or synchronised only if you have appropriate permissions for downloading and above in the relevant folder.
Your local working folder is updated in real-time with the latest version of files if synchronisation is enabled in the aDrive Desktop. A green tick appears on the folder or file icon for folders or files that are fully synchronised. See an example below:
Moreover, the files you upload in such a folder are made available on the Asite web application in real-time (if uploaded in online mode).
When you need to disable two-way automatic synchronisation of files for a particular project folder at any time while following the steps to enable synchronisation, you can uncheck the folders for which you want to disable synchronisation and click 'Update' to save the changes.
Note: aDrive Desktop Professional version with Support for Two-Way Automatic Synchronisation comes with a Download cap in TB (terabyte) per customer. Additional charges apply for each extra data downloaded above the limit. The data limit resets every year or at the renewal of the contract.
