Understanding File Tasks

This article helps you understand different tasks that can be assigned on your files in Asite.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Users on Asite with required privileges can distribute files to project team members for specific tasks to be completed within the due date assigned for the task.

While distributing files to project team members, you can select a task along with a due date.

You may assign different types of tasks here which include 'For Acknowledgement', 'For Action', 'For Comment Coordination', 'For Comment', 'For Comment Incorporation', 'For Distribution', 'For Information' or 'For Status Change'.

For Action

To ask other users to complete any particular action on the file revision by entering relevant task notes in the 'Subject' field as required.

'Task Notes' is available as a separate column under the 'Distribution' tab, within the 'Files' area.

In case you don't see this column, use the 'Customize' option available at the top right side and move the 'Task Notes' from 'Available Fields' to 'Selected Fields' then click 'Update'.

For Comment Incorporation

To ask other users to publish a new file revision. Similar to placeholder functionality, the only difference here is once you give this task to any user, they need to first acknowledge the 'For Comment Incorporation' task and also need to select task time for the same. Once this is done, the 'For Comment Incorporation' task is marked as complete and a new 'For Publishing' task is assigned to that user with the task time that they selected.
