Workflow automates your business processes by defining and executing a flow on an object, such as files, forms, or custom objects.
In a visual workflow, tasks, information and objects are passed from one participant to another for action, according to pre-defined rules.
Organisations use workflows to coordinate tasks between people and synchronize data between systems to improve organisational efficiency, responsiveness and profitability.
A fully functional digital workflow provides four key benefits to a company:
Improved productivity
Process transparency
Faster business reaction time
Improved accountability
As shown in the image above, when creating a new workflow on the Asite platform, you can create tasks followed by workflow definition and triggers to invoke the definition.
There are two types of tasks available:
User tasks - actions performed by users
System tasks - actions performed by the system directly
Before starting to design a workflow, you should create any system tasks required for it to run successfully.
Once your tasks and workflow design are ready, you can then configure events that trigger the created workflow.
