Create Issue

This article helps you understand how to create an issue on a project model.

Users on Asite having the required project level privilege 'Can Create Issue' can create and manage issues while viewing a model, using the Issue Manager. Below are the steps to create a new issue:

1. Open the required model in the model viewer.

2. Click on the 'Issue Manager' icon at the top right to open the issue manager. A layered screen will appear.

3. Click on 'Create Issue' to create a new issue. The screen to create an issue will appear within the file viewer itself.

Below is a description of the available fields while creating an issue.

Assign To - Select users to whom this issue is to be assigned.

Title - Enter a title for the issue under creation.

Select a Status- Select a status for the issue under creation. Available options are 'Open', 'In Progress', 'Approved', 'Resolved' and 'Closed'. A new issue will have 'Open' status selected by default. Once the status of an issue is set to 'Closed', that particular issue cannot be edited later, including the status.

Priority - Select a priority level for the issue under creation. Available options are 'None', 'Low', 'Medium' and 'High'. A new issue will have 'None' priority selected by default.

Due Date - Select a due date from the calendar for the issue under creation.

Type - Select a type of issue for the issue under creation. Available options are 'Clash', 'Constructibility', 'Design', 'Comment', 'For Information', 'Issue', 'H&S', 'Request', 'Risk' and 'Solution'. A new issue will have 'Issue' selected as type by default.

Label - Select a label for the issue under creation. Available options are 'Architecture', 'Structure', 'Mechanical', 'Electrical', 'Specifications', 'Technology' and 'Undefined'. A new issue will have 'Architecture' selected as the label by default.

Description - Enter a description about the issue under creation.

Additionally, you have an option to attach an external file to the issue from your local storage by clicking on the 'Attachment' icon at the top right. You can also add links to the issue along with a name for each of the links you are adding, by clicking on the 'Link' icon available at the top right.

Once done entering the details, click 'Submit' to complete creating the issue. A view of the model at the time of creating the issue automatically gets captured along with the issue created.
