Users on Asite with the role privilege 'Create Parent Folders' can upload file folders as parent folders on the projects/project templates accessible to them. This will include all files from the selected file folder as well as any subfolders that are part of the file folder getting uploaded.
If you're uploading as a subfolder, learn how to upload a file folder as a subfolder on the project.
Below are the steps to upload a file folder on your local device storage as a parent folder on your Asite project:
1. Select the project or project template from the folder tree navigation under the 'Files'
tab.
2. From the top right side, click the 'Upload' dropdown and select 'Folders'.
Alternatively, you can drag and drop the folder to be uploaded to the files
listing area from your local device storage. Next, you can skip to Step 6 below.
3. It will populate a file explorer window where you can search for and select the file folder that needs to be uploaded from your local system.
Note: The options in the file explorer window may appear differently depending on your operating system.
4. Select a file folder that you want to upload as a parent folder and click on 'Upload'
option to continue.
5. A browser prompt will appear asking you to confirm if you want to continue uploading all files available from the selected folder to Asite. Select 'Upload' to continue.
6. The 'Upload' window appears, listing out the folder selected for upload and its
size, including the number of subfolders and files included in the selected folder
mentioned separately. At this stage, you can upload more folders by clicking on
'Select Folder(s)' or you can stop uploading one or more of the selected folders
by clicking on the icon opposite the name of the selected folder.
Click 'Upload' to continue. The activity center will then appear at the bottom right
of the window and display the progress of folder uploads. It will automatically
close once the selected folders are uploaded successfully.
Irrespective of the configuration, files that are part of the folder getting
uploaded will be uploaded without any attribute details (i.e. it will be considered
as a simple upload).
Clicking 'Cancel' on the 'Upload' window will stop uploading the selected folders
and take you back to the files listing area.
