All group members, including administrators, will be able to communicate on the groups accessible to them. Below are the steps to communicate using the 'Groups' option:
1. All the groups will be available to search from within the left panel. Click the group name to send an instant message to all its members or view any unread messages from group members.
To search for a group using its name, click the magnifying icon in the left panel (opposite the 'Search Users/Groups' option).
If there are unread messages from the group members, the count of unread messages will be displayed next to the group's name.
2. The entire messaging history for the selected group, including the date and time, will be shown. The option to enter a message in the selected group will appear at the bottom.
By default, you will be taken to the first unread message. If unread messages are not found, you will be taken to the most recent message.
3. Enter your message in the 'Send an aMessage' textbox.
4. Drag and drop file attachments from your device or click the paperclip icon to add one or more attachments.
To remove any selected attachment, click the bin icon next to the same.
5. To mention a specific group member within the aMessage, type the '@' symbol followed by the initial characters of the user's name, then select their name from the auto-populating list.
6. Once your message, with any necessary attachments, is ready, click the paper airplane icon or press the 'Enter' key to send it by uploading the chosen attachments.
7. Each attachment in the messaging history can be downloaded using the cloud icon visible upon hovering your mouse on the attachment thumbnail.
All the attachments in the messaging history for the selected group are also available separately in the 'Attachments' panel on the right side of the screen, along with relevant details like the name of the user who uploaded it, the name of the attachment file, the upload date and the attachment size.
8. To reply to an existing message, use the reply icon at the top right of the message upon mouse hover.
The number of replies to an existing message will be displayed at its bottom. Clicking on the number of replies, you can view all reply threads on selected messages as shown below:
