Communicate on a Group

This article helps you understand how to communicate on an existing group.

All group members including administrators will be able to communicate on the groups accessible to them. Below are the steps to communicate using the 'Groups' option:

1. All the groups accessible to you will be available to search from within the left panel. Click on the group name to be able to send an instant message to all of its members or view any of the unread messages from group members.

To search for a group using its name, click on the magnifying icon in the left panel (opposite the 'Search Users/Groups' option).
In case there are unread messages from the group members, it will show the count of unread messages corresponding to the group's name.

2. All messaging history for the selected group along with the date and time will appear. An option to type in a message will appear at the bottom.

By default, you will be navigated to the first unread message. If no unread messages are available, you will be navigated to the latest message.

3. Type in your message within the 'Send an aMessage' textbox.

4. Directly drag and drop file attachments from your device or click on the paperclip icon to add single or multiple attachments at a time.

To remove any of the selected attachments, click on the bin icon corresponding to the selected attachment.

5. To mention a specific group member within the aMessage, type the '@' symbol followed by the initial characters of the user's name then select their name from the auto-populating list.

6. Once your message is ready along with attachments as needed, click the paper aeroplane icon or press the 'Enter' key to send it by uploading the selected attachments.

7. Each of the attachments in messaging history can be downloaded using the cloud icon available upon mouse hovering on the thumbnail of the attachment.

All the attachments in the messaging history for the selected group are also available separately in the 'Attachments' panel at the right side of the screen along with relevant details like the name of the user who uploaded it, name of the attachment file, upload date and attachment size.

8. To reply to an existing message, use the reply icon available at the top right of the message upon mouse hover.

The number of replies on an existing message will be displayed at its bottom. Clicking on the number of replies, you can view all reply threads on selected messages as shown below:
