Accessing Model Options

Select model files and model file links from the files listing for which you want to see the options, then right-click and select 'Model Options'.

Please note this option is only available for model file formats supported in Asite Model Viewer and not for any other file formats. Also, in case there is no federated model created on the project, this option will not be accessible.

View in Model (From Files Listing)

To view the related federated models in the viewer, along with other model files added if any.

Below are the steps to view a model file or a model file link as part of a federated model:

1. Right-click on a model file or a model file link from the files listing area, select 'Model Options' then click 'View in Model'.

In case the selected model file or model file link is not added to any federated model, this option will be disabled.

2. It populates a layered screen where you can see a list of existing federated models of that project having selected model files, along with details like type, model name, created date, updated date and project name.

3. Click on the federated model name which you want to view. In case the list is longer, use the search filter options at the top to filter the listing if required.

4. The view of the selected federated model will open in another browser tab, combined with the view of the model file that you selected from the file listing.

Add to Model (From Files Listing)

Add selected model files and model file links to any of the federated models accessible to you.

Below are the steps to add a model file or a model file link to a federated model:

1. Right-click on a model file or a model file link from the files listing area, select 'Model Options' then click 'Add to Model'.

2. It populates a layered screen where you can see a list of federated models created on the project along with details like type, model name, created date, updated date and project name.

3. Select the checkbox against the model records to which you want to add the model that you selected from the file listing.

In case a model record is already added to one or more of the federated models accessible to you, such records will not be available to select.

4. Click 'Add' to continue. A confirmation message will appear in the activity centre on the screen if the selected model file is successfully added.

Add to Model while Viewing (From Model Tree)

To add model files and model file links to a federated model that is open in the viewer.

Below are the steps to add a model file or a model file link to a federated model open in the viewer:

1. Once the required federated model is open in the viewer, go to the model tree on the left-hand side and click the 'Add File' option.

In case the model tree is not visible, click the 'Model Tree' icon from the top bar to view the model tree.

2. It populates a layered screen where you can select one or more model records available on the project.

3. Select the checkbox opposite the model records which you want to add to the federated model that is open in the viewer. Use the filter options to find the model file if needed.

In case a model record is already added to the federated model open in the viewer, such records will not be available to select.

4. Click 'Add' to continue. The selected model file or model file link will be added to the model visible in the model tree without the checkbox selected. Once you select the checkbox, the federated model view will update accordingly, to include the newly added model.

Remove from Model (From Files Listing)

Remove the model files or model file links from the viewer, so that the selected model record gets removed from the related federated model.

Below are the steps to remove a model file or a model file link from a federated model:

1. Right-click on a model file or a model file link from the files listing area, select 'Model Options' then click 'Remove from Model'.

2. It populates a layered screen where you can see a list of federated models created on the project along with details like type, model name, created date, updated date and project name.

3. Select the checkbox opposite the model record from which you want to remove the model that you selected from the file listing.

4. Click 'Remove' to continue. A confirmation message will appear in the activity centre on the screen if the models are successfully removed.
