Use a QR Code on a File

This article helps you understand how to use QR (Quick Response) code function available for files.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

The objective of the QR (Quick Response) code function is to scan the QR code on your mobile device and check whether the file you are viewing is the latest or superseded. QR codes are a very convenient way to display a small bit of information that mobile devices can easily scan and process.

A unique QR code will be generated for each file uploaded to the folder where QR code configuration is enabled. As part of the configuration, you must set the rules before publishing the files. Below are the steps to use this function:

  1. Enable and Configure QR Code in the Project Settings - You can click here to learn how to enable and configure QR Code on your project.

  2. Enable QR Code on the Project Folder - Click here to learn how to enable the QR code on a project folder.
Once enabled on a project folder, the QR code will start appearing on files uploaded next time onwards (in that particular folder).

  3. Verification of QR Code from a Mobile Device - The Site Manager, or the Front Line Staff member who needs to verify whether the file is the latest must scan the QR code using their mobile device. If necessary, the required app to scan the QR code must be installed separately on the mobile device.

The QR code value will be verified on the scan.

The Site Manager or the Front-Line Staff member who scans the QR code from their mobile device will receive a result on the mobile device based on the QR code configuration.
