Users on Asite can quickly drag and drop files from local device storage into Asite to upload it to an application folder.
Pre-requisites:
Permission as mentioned below, on the project folder in which a file is to be uploaded:
To upload or publish files, 'Publish' or 'Publish & Link' or 'Admin' permission.
Folder permissions defined at the default level or the role level can be overridden. Click here for detailed help (See point 4).
Below are the steps to upload a file using drag and drop option:
1. To upload files via the drag-and-drop method, you need to select the project and then the destination folder.
2. Once a folder is selected, you can directly drag one or more files for upload as required. A drop area will be triggered automatically on the screen as shown below.
3. Once you drop the files in the specified area, the file uploading process is initiated right away based on the folder configuration.
If the selected project folder is enabled for simple upload, the file will upload right away without any extra steps. Click here for detailed help on simple upload.
If the selected project folder is not enabled for simple upload, you will need to enter additional attribute details. Click here for detailed help.
If the name of any of the files selected for upload matches the name of an existing file in the selected project folder, it is considered a revision of that particular file in the project. Click here for detailed help on how to upload a revision of an existing file in a project.
4. To upload more files, click on 'Select Files' and the files to upload from your device and then repeat the same steps as needed.
5. To remove one or more of the selected files from upload, click on the icon against the name of those files.
6. Once done, click on 'Upload' to complete uploading the files being displayed. While doing so, an activity center will appear. It displays the progress of the upload of each of those files and automatically disappears once the files are uploaded successfully.
