Create aMessage with Markup

This article helps you understand how to create aMessage with markup on your files in Asite.

Users on Asite having role privilege 'Can Create Comments' can create markup using Asite File Viewer. Markups may be created directly onto a file or drawing in order that users may have cross reference information. The Universal Web Viewer provides users with an ability to create, save and view markups online.

Administrators can configure markup options on any project. The markup options helps administrators to configure system behavior when any user creates a markup. Markup options and their details are as mentioned below:

Markup options for any project are accessible from 'Project Settings' tab while editing a project in Asite Web Application. Availability of markup options may depend upon whether the 'Commenting' activity is locked or unlocked for selected file.

Here is a description of system behavior for available markup options in Asite:


Save Markup and Open a Discussion

When this option is selected, you get below popup while saving any markup.

'Launch the Create Comment Page on Saving Mark-up' checkbox is selected by default and is watermarked.

By clicking 'OK', a create aMessage page is launched with the markup created already associated with aMessage. You can distribute the aMessage with required project users and even mark it as private aMessage. You can also associate any document, file or app with this aMessage. You can also associate other markups created on current revision of this document with the aMessage.


Save Markup Only

When this option is selected, you get below popup while saving any markup.

'Launch the Create Comment Page on Saving Mark-up' checkbox is unchecked by default and it is not watermarked. If the checkbox is checked, the system behavior is as mentioned below:

By clicking 'OK' a create aMessage page is launched with the markup created already associated with aMessage. You can distribute the aMessage with required project users and even mark it as private aMessage. You can also associate any document, file or app with this aMessage. You can also associate other markups created on current revision of this document with the aMessage.

If the check box is not checked, the system behavior is as mentioned below:

Only the markup is saved and no aMessage is created.


Save Markup and Automatically Send a Discussion

When this option is selected, you get below popup while saving any markup.

'Launch the Create Comment Page on Saving Mark-up' checkbox is not present.

By clicking 'OK' an aMessage is automatically created along with the markup.
