Create New Defect Type

1. Navigate to 'Field' tab and select the project in which you need to create / manage defect types.

2. Click on 'Manage Type' icon at the top right above the field forms listing area.

3. A new popup of 'Manage Defect Type' will come up on screen, click on 'Add Defect Type' button to add a new defect type.

4. Key in the defect type name and click on 'Save' to only create a defect type.

5. If you want that a particular defect type can only be assigned to users of specific organization then select the required organization against the defect type and click on 'Save'. You can only select one organization here.

6. Secondly, after selecting the required organization you want that a particular defect type can only be assigned to a particular user of selected organization then select the required user in the user field. You can only select one user here.

7. Doing so will ensure while raising a new defect form, you can assign defect to only this user.

Example:

For defect type 'Civil' if you have selected organization 'Civil Contractors Plc' then while raising a new civil defect you will see a list of all users who are a part of organization 'Civil Contractors Plc' in the 'Assign To' field of defect form.

Additionally for the defect type 'Civil' if you have selected organization as 'Civil Contractors Plc' and also selected a user 'Bob Brickwork' of 'Civil Contractors Plc' then while raising a new civil defect you will only see one user i.e. 'Bob Brickwork' in the 'Assign To' field of defect form.

8. Click 'Save' to complete creating new defect types.
