Associate a Form to another Form

This article helps you understand how to associate an existing form while creating a new form.

Updated this week

You can attach associate existing forms (from the same or other projects accessible to you) to the form you are creating if its form settings allow so. Below are the steps to associate a form while creating a new form:

Before proceeding further, remember to ensure that the form you are looking to associate with the form is part of the project(s) that you have selected in the project filter.

Follow the steps to create a form.

Click the More Options icon at the top right side (available based on relevant form settings configuration) to associate docs, aMessages or forms. To associate a form, click the 'Associate Apps' option as seen in the below screenshot.

Similarly, the option to associate forms will also be available while replying to a form as shown in the below screenshot.

Based on the form settings configuration, the option to associate forms can be available while editing a form as well.

A popup will appear wherein you can select form(s) to associate from the same or other projects accessible to you. Select the form(s) that need to be associated by using the search filters available at the top and then click 'Associate and Close' to proceed further.

Note: To set form location, use the 'App Location' dropdown option at the top.

In case you need to associate multiple forms with different form names, use the 'Associate' button to associate selected form(s) having current form names and then navigate to the other form names one by one and associate forms accordingly. Click 'Associate and Close' once done.

The form(s) selected for association will appear at the bottom of the form.

Check the box for 'Display Form Print View After Saving' to be able to see the form print view once the form is saved.

Click 'Save Draft' if you only want to save the form content as a draft for the time being.

Click 'Send' to complete creating the new form, else click 'Cancel'. If using the 'Cancel' button, a prompt message will appear to ensure that you get a chance to decide what to do with the unsaved form data if any.

The newly created form will be available as a separate record in the forms listing.
