This article helps you understand how to create a system task for forms in a project.

Updated today

Pre-requisites:

  • The required role privilege is 'Manage Workflow Rules' on the project where a system task needs to be created.

The steps to create a system task for forms in a project are as mentioned below:

1. Navigate to the 'Workflows' tab and select the project to create an independent system task or for a workflow.

2. Click the 'Configure System Task' button at the top right to start configuring a system task.

Alternatively, right-click the project name and select the 'Configure Action' option.

3. Key in a name for the system task which is being configured.

4. Select the task context as 'App'.

5. For the selected 'App' task context, you must choose an 'App Type' from a list of active form types.

Note: Workflow doesn't support controller-based form types. For any non-controller-based form type converted to controller-based after the workflow was configured, the workflow won't execute for that particular form type.

6. Based on the selected task context, choose a task the system should perform in the workflow.
Available Task Types for 'App' - 'Distribute Apps', 'Execute Groovy Script', 'Email Notification', 'Status Change', 'Clear Tasks', 'Publish As PDF', 'Assign Visibility', 'Authorization Integration', 'Attach Document', 'Assign Visibility on Associated Files', 'Status Change of Associated Items' and 'Webhook'.
