Reply to an existing aMessage on a File When Viewing

Users can respond to existing aMessages in a file in which they are involved as part of the project collaboration.

Below are the steps to reply to an existing aMessage on a file open in the viewer:

1. Follow the steps to open the required file in the viewer.


2. Click the icon at the top right to view existing aMessages in the file open in the viewer.

3. Navigate to the aMessage to which you need to reply. Click the 'Reply' link to see the reply options.

4. Below is a description of the fields available while replying to a File aMessage:

To - Add recipients for this reply and assign them various tasks with completion time. You can assign tasks by clicking the down arrow next to the user's name. An aMessage reply can be distributed to users, distribution groups and roles.

Title - To edit the title of this reply.

Description - To specify the aMessage reply in the box. Use the editor options at the top to style your text, insert images from a URL or enter hyperlinks.

Mark as Private - To mark the aMessage to be created as private.

5. Below is a description of the icons at the top right, which can also be used optionally while replying to an existing File aMessage:

To proceed without entering any specific aMessage in the file open in the viewer.

Attachment

To attach an external file to the aMessage.
Files selected to attach will appear at the bottom of the window while replying to an aMessage on a file open in the viewer.

Associate

To associate files, file aMessages, forms or markups to the file aMessage reply being created on the file open in the viewer.

  • Click the icon and select from the available options, including 'Associate Files', 'Associate aMessages', 'Associate Apps', and 'Associate Markups'.

  • On the next screen, choose objects to associate based on the option you selected in the previous screen.

    • You can associate single or multiple objects that may belong to the same or different projects.

    • You can also use the search and filter options at the top while selecting objects to associate.

    • For projects migrated from Java Viewer or Thin Client Viewer to Universal Web Viewer, any markups created in Java Viewer or Thin Client Viewer are no longer available to associate with.

  • If associating only a single object or multiple objects from a location, navigate to the required object location, select the objects you want to associate, and click the Associate and Close option.

  • If you need to associate multiple objects from different locations, you can follow the same process description above by going to each location from which you need to associate files. Here, instead of clicking the Associate and Close option, click Associate and repeat the same process until you have finished selecting all required objects. Once all the objects to associate are selected, click 'Associate and Close' to continue.

Objects selected to associate will appear at the bottom of the window while replying to an aMessage on a file open in the viewer.

6. Once you have entered the required response details, click the Submit option.

Click 'Save Draft' if you need to edit and submit later. If you don't want to save any of the changes you made, click 'Cancel' to return to the previous screen.
