Open and View a File in Viewer

This article helps you understand how to open and view a file in Asite File Viewer.

All 2D files accessible to you on Asite can be viewed using the Asite's 2D file viewer.

Pre-requisites:

Apart from the required access or visibility as applicable on the file which is to be viewed, you need to have:

  1. Permission as mentioned below on the project folder where required file to view is located:

    1. 'View Only' or above permission assigned to your role.

Below are the steps to open and view a file in file viewer:

1. In 'Files' area, navigate to the project where a file is to be viewed. Next, navigate to the folder where the file is located.

2. A list of existing files under selected folder, if any, will appear at the right side.

3. To view a file, click on a document reference (Doc Ref) or a document title (Doc Title) or file name. The selected file will open for viewing in a new browser tab. By default, the latest file revision will appear while viewing.

2. File viewer displays relevant details of the opened file. Details include document

reference, status, incomplete tasks, revision number, published date and document

title.

  1. Doc Ref - To view document reference of the file open in viewer.

  16. Zoom In - To zoom in to the file view.

  17. Page Navigation - To navigate to a specific page based on page number.

  18. Access Markup Library - To view all markups added to markup library.

  19. Markup Tools - The markup toolbar contains related groups of markup tools which can be used to create new markup or edit existing markups as applicable.

  20. Select - To change selection mode.

  21. View - To access available menu options related to measurement or markup as applicable. Available options include - View (default), Measure, Annotate, Shapes, Insert. Markup options (Annotate, Shapes, Insert) are only available while creating or editing markups.

  22. Show/Hide - To hide/show markups on the file being viewed.

  23. Menu - To access other menu items for the viewer which includes - Search Text, Settings (to set the language or theme for the viewer).
