All 2D files accessible to you on Asite can be viewed using Asite's 2D file viewer.
Pre-requisites:
Apart from the required access or visibility as applicable on the file which is to be viewed, you need to have:
Permission, as mentioned below, on the project folder where the required file to view is located:
'View Only' or above permission assigned to your role.
Below are the steps to open and view a file in the viewer:
1. In the 'Files' area, navigate to the project where you need to view a file. Next, navigate to the folder where the file is located.
2. A list of existing files under the selected folder (if any) will appear to the right.
3. To view a file, click a document reference (Doc Ref), a document title (Doc Title), or a file name. The selected file will open for viewing in a new browser tab. By default, the latest file revision will appear while viewing.
4. The file viewer displays relevant details of the opened file. Details include document reference, status, incomplete tasks, revision number, published date and document title.

Doc Ref - To view the document reference of the open file.
Status Change - To change the status of the open file.
File Tasks - To complete your pending tasks on the open file revision.
View Superseded Revisions - To view superseded revisions, i.e. all the previous revisions on the open file revision.
Doc Title - To view the document title of the open file.
Download & Download Preferences - To download the open file revision. You can select download preferences as needed.
aMessages - To view ongoing discussions on the open file revision, or create a new discussion if required.
Start Meeting - Start a meeting based on the open file using Zoom, Microsoft Teams or Google Meet.
More Options - Access the more options menu specific to the open file. It can include different options as mentioned below:
Share
Distribute File - To distribute the open file.
Share Link - To share a link to the open file.
New
Edit Attributes - Edit attributes on the open file.
Edit in Microsoft Office for the Web (for supported file formats only) - Edit the open file using Microsoft Office for the Web.
New Form - To create a new form by associating the file opened in the viewer.
New Revision - To publish a new revision on the file open in the viewer.
Start Workflow - To start a workflow on the open file.
Print
Print File - To print the file that is open in the viewer.
Save as PDF - Save the open file in PDF format (applicable only for file formats supported in the viewer).
More Info
Attachments & Associations - To view any attachments & associations on the open file.
Associate Attachments & Associations & Create a Form - To associate any attachments & associations on the open file and create a new form.
Compare File With - To compare the file revision open in the viewer with its other revisions, as applicable.
Dashboard - To switch to your Asite dashboard.
File Details - To view details of the open file revision.
History - To view the audit history for the open file revision.
Navigate to Folder - To navigate to the project folder containing the selected file, which is open in the viewer.
Start Watching / Stop Watching - To start or stop watching the open file revision.
Workflows - To view workflow instances on the open file.
(?) Help - To see all available help content related to viewing files.
Toggle side panel - To show or hide the viewer's side panel as and when required. It includes the thumbnails or outline view.
View Controls - To access options in the View Controls menu.
Pan - To scroll through / move around the file.
Zoom Level - To set the zoom level - based on available fixed percentage options - or use other zoom-related options like 'Fit to Width', 'Fit to Page' or 'Marquee Zoom' options from the menu as and when required.
Zoom Out - To zoom out of the file view.
Zoom In - To zoom in on the file view.
Page Navigation - To navigate to a specific page based on page number.
Access Markup Library - To view all markups added to the markup library.
Markup Tools - The markup toolbar contains related groups of markup tools. These tools can be used to create new markups or edit existing ones.
Select - To change selection mode.
View - To access menu options related to measurement or markup, as applicable. Available options include View (default), Measure, Annotate, Shapes, and Insert. Markup options (Annotate, Shapes, and Insert) are only available while creating or editing markups.
Show/Hide - To hide/show markups on the open file.
Menu - To access other menu items for the viewer, which include Search Text and Settings (to set the language or theme for the viewer).
