Add a Project Template

This article helps you understand how to add a new project template on Asite.

Pre-requisites:

  • Privilege for adding new project templates, assigned to you by the Asite System Administrator.

Below are the steps for adding a new project template:

1. Navigate to the 'Projects' tab and click the 'Add Template' option in the left-hand menu.

2. The 'Create Template' popup page comes up. This page has five tabs as shown below:

The user has to fill in all the mandatory fields under the 'Basic Information' tab to navigate to other tabs. This tab contains the following fields:

Project Name - Enter a name for the project template to be created, in a way that helps you easily identify it later.


Client Name - Select the client organization (owner of the project template) from a list of organizations registered with Asite.

'Client Name' selected while creating a project template cannot be changed later once created even while creating a cloned project out of that template.

Geography - Select a geographical location to save your project template. Options include the 'United Kingdom (EU01)', 'North America (US01)', 'Australia (AU01)', and 'Netherlands (EU02)'.

'Geography' selected while creating a project template cannot be changed later once created. However, it can be changed while creating a cloned project out of that template.

Viewer - The 'Universal Web Viewer' is selected by default in new project templates.

'Viewer' selected while creating a project template cannot be changed later (once created).


Status - A project template can be assigned a different status based on the accessibility that the administrator wants, below are the available statuses and their details:

  • Open - By default every newly created project template will have 'Open' status.

  • Closed - Based on system-level privilege, a user can change the status of the project template to 'Closed'.

Upload Image - Upload an image that will be used to list the project template being created with a thumbnail image under the 'Projects' tab.

BIM Enabled - To enable BIM (Building Information Model) on the project template under creation.

Additional Information - To enter additional information on the project template.

Project Settings - To configure the project template settings as required. While editing a project template, you cannot change the configuration for 'Enable Object level visibility of private information' and/or 'Enable Comment Review' once enabled under the 'Project Settings' section.

Email Notifications - To set the notification email details as required.

Working Calendar - Add the working days and holidays in the project template as required.

3. After entering the required details in each tab, click 'Save' to complete adding a project template.

The newly created project template will start appearing instantly in the project templates listing and can be filtered based on the search options.
