Pre-requisites:
You must have the 'Manage Workflow Rules' role privilege on the project where a workflow instance is to be transitioned.
To begin, kindly click here to learn how to check the progress on a workflow instance and follow the steps mentioned.
Right-click the node where the workflow is currently moving and select the 'Transition Workflow' option to transition this workflow instance.
Note: Transitioning a workflow won't automatically clear tasks that would have already been assigned as part of the workflow and are pending completion. Such tasks can be cleared manually using the 'Clear Tasks' option for files / the 'Clear Tasks' option for forms as applicable.
Selecting the 'Transition Workflow' option will ensure the workflow moves to the next node. The right-click option to transition workflow won't appear for actions not yet executed as part of the selected workflow instance.
By performing the above steps, only the selected workflow will transition for the selected object, i.e. file, form or custom object. If other workflows are applied to the same object, they will remain unaffected.
If the workflow on the selected file, form, or custom object is in 'Failed' status, it cannot be transitioned directly. It has to be first resumed, and only then can the workflow on the selected object be transitioned. Click here to learn how to resume a failed workflow.
