Updated over a week ago

Pre-requisites:

  • Privilege for adding new projects, assigned to you by Asite System Administrator.

To understand how to create a project from an existing project template, click here.

Below are the steps for adding a new project from scratch:

1. Navigate to 'Projects' tab and click on 'Add Project' option in the left hand menu.

2. 'Create Project' popup page comes up. This page has five tabs as shown below.

User needs to fill all the mandatory fields under 'Basic Information' tab in order to navigate to other tabs. This tab contains below fields:

1. Project Name - Enter a name for the project to be created, in a way that it helps you easily identify it later.

2. Client Name - To select the client organization (owner of the project) from a list of organizations registered with Asite. Client name selected while creating a project cannot be changed later, once it is created.

3. Geography - To select a geographical location for saving your project data. Options currently available - United Kingdom (EU01), North America (US01), Australia (AU01) and Netherlands (EU02). Geography selected while creating a project cannot be changed later, once it is created.

4. Viewer - The 'Universal Web Viewer' will be selected by default while creating new projects. A viewer selected while creating a project cannot be changed later, once it is created.

5. Status - A project can be assigned different status based on the accessibility that administrator wants, below are the available statuses and their details:

  • Open - By default every newly created project will have 'Open' status. An 'Open' project is accessible to all the users assigned on that project.

  • Closed - Based on system level privilege a user can change the status of project to 'Closed'. A closed project won't be accessible to any user assigned on the project. Users can contact Asite Support to get help with closed projects.

  • Archived - You can change the status of project to 'Archived' if required privilege for archiving projects is assigned to you by Asite System Administrator.. An archived project will be accessible to all project users who have privilege to view an archived project. When changing the status of a project to 'Archived', system will check to ensure that at least one project user has the ability to access archived projects and display a prompt message as applicable. Click here to get details regarding functional limitations in a project having 'Archived' status. Archived projects are available only via the web interface. Their access via Asite Navigator (desktop app), Adoddle Field or Asite Field (mobile apps) and Asite API are restricted.

6. Upload Image - To upload project image which will be used to list the project being created with thumbnail image under 'Projects' tab.
