View Existing aMessages on a File When Viewing

Users can view existing aMessages on a file in which they are involved as part of the project collaboration.

Below are the steps to view existing aMessages on a File open in Viewer:

1. Follow the steps to open the required file in the viewer.


2. Click the icon at the top right to view existing aMessages in the file open in the viewer.

3. All existing aMessages on the selected file will appear as a list with relevant details.

Mouse over the user profile image or initials on the left side to get details regarding the user who created the corresponding aMessage.

Opposite the title of an aMessage, click the icon to view further details as applicable.

All existing aMessages will appear with required details like ID, title, content, date when created (mouseover to see exact time) and links to view a list of its recipients, attachments and associations as applicable.

  • If any, associated records will be available based on your access only. If there are additional records (not accessible to you), you will be directed to contact the project administrator for information regarding them.

If an attachment is there on the aMessage, you can view relevant details like file name (click to view the file attachment in the viewer), type of file, file size, and date when uploaded. To download the attachment, click the file type icon (only works if you have the required project-level privilege to download files).

If a file is associated with the same or other projects accessible to you on Asite, you can view the file depending on your access by clicking the 'Doc Ref' listed for that particular file. Additionally, you can see all related information like the type of file, copy the direct link to the file, share the direct link as an email, doc title, revision number, version number, publisher, publish date and file size,

If another form is associated with the same or different projects, depending on your access level, you can view the form by clicking on the form ID associated with that form. Additionally, you can see all related information like form ID, form title, originator, last updated date and form status.

If another aMessage is associated with the same or different projects, depending on your access level, you can view the file aMessage by clicking the title listed for that aMessage. Additionally, you can see all related information such as comment ID, title, version number of the related file, revision number of the selected file, originator, and creation date.

4. Below is a description of the icons at the top right, which can also be used optionally while viewing aMessages:

Create Form

To create a new form by associating the selected aMessage.

This option will not be unavailable if no aMessage has been chosen for the association.

Refresh

Refresh the content within the layered page.

Maximize

To maximize the pop-up.

Minimize

To minimize the layered page.

Dock Content

To dock the content within the layered page so that you don't need to click again to view its content.

Undock Content

To undock the docked content.

Close

To close the layered page.
