Enable publishing new Files via the aDrive Desktop

You can publish new files on Asite via the aDrive Desktop app in a project folder only if that particular project folder is enabled for synchronisation in your aDrive Desktop app. You can click here to learn how to enable synchronisation on a project folder in your aDrive Desktop app.

The folders enabled for synchronising will appear separately at the below path in your local device storage in the same structure as in your Asite project:

'C' drive / Users / <user_name> / aDrive / <project_name>

Publish new files automatically on Asite Cloud via the aDrive Desktop

To publish new files via aDrive Desktop, go to the aDrive Desktop project folder path on your local device storage and place a copy of the new file in the related project folder.

If your aDrive Desktop preference is set to 'Automatic Sync records' and the selected project folder is enabled for 'simple upload', any new files identified in the related local folder will be synchronised automatically to Asite Cloud. You can then start accessing those files directly on Asite Cloud. Any files automatically synchronised by aDrive Desktop won't appear under the 'Recent Uploads' tab in the aDrive Desktop window.

Publish new files manually on Asite Cloud via the aDrive Desktop

To publish new files via aDrive Desktop, you can go to the aDrive Desktop project folder path on your local device storage and place a copy of the new file you need to publish in the related project folder.

Once the required file/s to publish are available in your local aDrive Desktop project folder, aDrive Desktop will track them once logged in, and your aDrive Desktop window will update accordingly.

If your aDrive Desktop preference is set to 'Automatic Sync records' and the selected project folder is not enabled for 'simple upload', you can still publish the files manually by entering attributes. In such a scenario, a message will appear at the bottom of your aDrive Desktop window as follows:

Click the icon to fill in attribute details for the new file identified in your local aDrive Desktop project folder.

At the top, you can find details of the new file identified for upload, including the file name, folder path where it will be published, and the project name.

Capture the required file details.

  • Depending on the configurable attributes the project administrator defines for the selected folder, you may need to provide additional details while publishing files. If you are a project administrator, you can click here to understand how to manage configurable attributes.

If multiple files are selected for publishing, the 'Bulk Apply' option allows you to apply attributes to files in bulk.

Once you've completed the upload, click the 'Upload' button to continue. Otherwise, click 'Cancel' to return to the main aDrive Desktop window.

If some or all files are not published due to connection issues, such file records will appear in the 'Error' section in the aDrive Desktop window. You can go ahead and publish again once the required connection is available. aDrive Desktop will always notify you whether you are online or not connected.
