  • Introducing Comment Review on Files (Optional Project Level Feature)
    Comments on Files are very useful when reviewing files. With our new Comment Review feature (if enabled on your project), you are now able to assign a status to each of your file comments which form part of a file review. Similarly, a file can have multiple reviews having multiple comments under each of them. Each review comes with an option to define the discipline and suggested status separately, which means you can group comments into discipline specific reviews and assign separate review statuses as and when required.

    You are now able to configure a dynamic distribution list for assigning user tasks in workflows for files or forms. A new '${Dynamic Distribution' option is available to select in the 'To' field while configuring a user task. The dynamic distribution list defined in the workflow definition of your project can be configured separately in the same project as a groovy script system task as per your requirements.

  • Incomplete task gadgets have a new 'Refresh' option

    Asite manages Big Data, and we have caching technologies in place to guarantee a quick and seamless user experience. We have introduced the caching framework for dashboard gadgets now.

    Previously, when a user lands on the dashboard, all of the gadgets were immediately refreshed, regardless of any changes. This resulted in recalculations of such massive amounts of data, which slowed down user performance. The task gadgets are now cached after the user logs into Asite. By just clicking the new "Refresh" icon or when the user reloads the browser, this is quickly refreshed. All of this is done to guarantee enhanced speed and a smooth user experience.

    We are thrilled to introduce a new user interface, showcasing a fresh and modern look to the AppBuilder tool. The new interface empowers App Designers to craft responsive forms, specially tailored for mobile devices.   • Improved Experience while working with Draft Forms
    Once a form is saved in marketplace view as a draft, the form originators (whether buyer or supplier) can now directly access them later in an editable draft view from the respective listing area (without the need to go to form view and then editing the draft which involved an extra step). From the same view, existing draft form message can also be discarded if required.

    Previously, if a project was enabled for capturing geotag information, related information was displayed for attachments and/or associations on forms enabled in 'Sites' module as applicable. Now, geotag information is extended and displayed for all form attachments and/or associations as applicable (once geotag is enabled on project). This includes information like latitude, longitude and altitude, along with map view of the selected location.

AppBuilder

  • Ability to bulk-apply properties to multiple selected controls
    While designing forms with AppBuilder, you might have observed that many of the properties (like styling and padding options) work similarly between the different controls you are configuring. To improve upon your experience while working on form designs with such configuration, a separate 'Multi-Select Properties' option is introduced. With this new option, you are now able to select multiple controls and configure a set of common properties between them.

    How does it work?

    Say you want to change background color of some or all of the controls in your design, all you will need to do is:

    • Select the required controls in form designer

    • Open 'Multi-Select Properties' option

    • Select the styling or properties you wish to apply

    • Save your changes

  • Enhancements to Asite Navisworks Plugin
    With the Asite Navisworks Plugin, you can now attach a converted .NWF version of your model file to Asite. NWF contains all the settings of Navisworks Manage based on model opened during the session for the selected file like current view and clash results. Whenever you open the same model next time in Navisworks Manage, you can load the relevant NWF file that was attached earlier based on date and time. It will help you to continue working on same model with the view and clash results as per the session specific to selected NWF.

  • Invite Any User from Supplier Org for Prequalification
    Previously, while sending an invite for prequalification, buyers could only select key contact (i.e. primary contact) from supplier organization as applicable. Now, buyers will have an option to invite any user from supplier organization, by entering their contact details like name and email address. In case the email address entered is already registered with Asite as a user under selected supplier organization, their details will be pre-populated automatically.

  • Security Enhancement: Support for 2-Factor Authentication
    The security of aMail Outlook Plugin has been enhanced to support the Enterprise password policy for 2-Factor Authentication (2FA). To access aMail Outlook Plugin, users must now enter the secret code that was emailed to their registered email address. This only applies if the policy has been enabled for your organization. Please contact your Administrator or Asite Helpdesk to enable this setting.

    How does it work?

    * The user inputs their login credentials to access aMail App.

    * After successful authentication, the user receives an email with a secret code to their registered email address.

    * The user inputs the secret code in aMail Outlook Plugin

    * Congratulations, you have successfully logged into aMail App and have access to your data.

    Note: 2FA must be enabled in the password policy as a pre-requisite.

    Sharing public links to files on Asite now comes with additional options. You can setup an auto generated password or a custom password to access a file while sharing its public link, as and when required. Such a password will be shared separately as an email to the recipients with whom the file link is getting shared.

  • Sorting Changes in Listing Areas
    Sorting on 'My Tasks' and 'Task Time' columns has been removed in listing areas. This will result in improved platform performance as well as a simplified user experience.
    For any user who had selected sorting on above columns (prior to the update), sorting in listing areas will work similar to how it works for new users currently (as explained below). As usual, a sorting icon will be displayed on the column based on which sorting is applied.

    • files will be sorted based on 'Date' column in descending order

    • forms will be sorted based on 'Last Updated' column in descending order

    • file aMessages will be sorted based on 'Last Updated' column in descending order

  • Bid Manager upgrades
    The Bid Manager module is upgraded to provide more usability functionalities, now displaying the bid list number for bid lists and enabling extending bid end dates for private bids even after the bid close date.

  • Quick way to identify when status was changed last time
    A new column 'Last Status Change' is introduced in files and forms listing areas, displaying the date and time (available as tooltip) when status for corresponding file or form was changed last time.

  • Create new public bids directly from within Marketplace
    Buyers will now be able to create new public bids directly from Marketplace interface, by selecting the project under which the public bid is to be created. While creating a public bid, new work packages can as well be created in the process simply by using 'Add' option against 'Package' dropdown available in the same interface.

  • Improved Directory Search
    Asite Marketplace now offers to search the company directory or trading partners more specifically based on different criteria - by all companies, by company name, by company category or by company classification, along with all the existing filter options.

AppBuilder Tool

  • New control to add a button for selecting site location
    A new control is available which helps you add a button to your form for allowing your form users to select any of the site locations configured in your project.

  • New block functions and system fields to populate site location
    New block functions and system fields are introduced in AppBuilder which helps you auto-populate site location name and/or site location path in your forms, wherever required.

  • Change in how copied fields are pasted while designing forms
    Previously, copied fields were pasted at the bottom of the form design. Now, copied fields will get pasted just below the field that you have selected at the time of pasting. Gives you better control to decide on a position where the fields you have copied in your form design should be pasted.

  • Easily rename folders enabled for synchronization
    Any changes you make to the name of project folders enabled for synchronization either in your local aSync folder or from Asite web application will now work in sync with each other. This means the moment you rename your local aSync folder, it will get updated inside your project on Asite web application as well. Similarly, it works the other way round too.

  • Ability to send tender invitation to multiple users from same organization

    Previously, an invitation to tender could only be sent to single user from each organization selected as recipient. Buyers are now able to select multiple users from each bidder organization as recipients while creating an invitation to tender.
    Allows buyers to offer more flexibility for bidder organizations - in a way that multiple users from recipient organization can get involved in the process as and when required.​

  • Ability to create work package while creating a new bid list
    Buyers on Asite Marketplace, while creating a new bid list (for organizations having 'Qualified' or 'Connected' status), will be able to create work packages at the same time while using 'Work package' dropdown option in bid list. Users part of the bid list will then get automatically added to the selected work package.

  • Display of bidder's contact details in Tender Tracker

    Available contact details of each of the participating bidder organizations will now be listed under tender tracker. This can be helpful in a scenario where buyer needs to connect with any of them outside of the platform.

  • Ability to close bids early in case of private sealed tenders
    As a buyer, in case of private sealed tenders, you are now able to close bids early prior to the end date defined on a tender invitation. This will only be allowed once all the bidders have submitted their bids on selected tender.

  • Improved interface for Prequalification actions
    A separate 'Review' button will be available to review prequalification for organizations with 'Invited' status. Accordingly, a separate 'Complete Prequal' button will be available to complete prequalification process for any organization with 'Pending' status. Provides better clarity on how you would like to proceed further with your prequalification process for each of the trading partners you are associated with.

  • New configurable attribute to set default package type

    Buyers are able to define default behavior - whether the tender packages they create would be considered as 'sealed' or 'unsealed' by default - based on a new configurable attribute. In general, buyers prefer to keep their tender packages unsealed, to prevent human error when creating bids, which is now possible to configure with this change.

    We are listening to you. Based on user feedback, we have improvised the 2D online viewer to provide a simplified interface to ensure that even with larger scale (e.g. 150% scale) on smaller laptops screens, the information is not cut-off and user has the best experience to continue collaborating on Asite Platform.

  • New search parameters introduced within Form Search API
    'excludeCustomRepeatingTableFields' - Helps delete all repeating tables which are returned in the response based on search criteria.

    'repeatingTableDataOnly' - Helps to get details specific to a repeating table field.

    Above parameters will only work when combined with below parameters:

    'overrideMappingName' - This parameter is used to pass the mapping file name that contains the details of field labels and its visibility (show/hide).

    'applyFormLabel' - By default label will not be applied in API response. If the 'applyFormLabel' parameter is set to true, only then the label will be applied.

aSync (Beta)

  • Auto Synchronization of Files from your Local aSync Folder

    Files from your local aSync folder will be synchronized with Asite Cloud in real time, if related folder is enabled for synchronization in aSync. No need to wait anymore to sync files placed in your local aSync folder. In case of simple upload, files would be synchronized automatically, while in case of upload with attributes, you will be asked to enter attribute details as needed before those files get synchronized.

    Please note that synchronization in aSync would work from device to cloud (one way) only as of now. Synchronization from cloud to device using aSync is currently part of Asite's future roadmap. Stay tuned!

  • Introducing Private Contacts in Asite Marketplace
    While adding new contacts for your organization profile on Asite Marketplace as a buyer, you get an option to set the new contact as a private contact for your organization. Similarly, while adding contacts for your supplier organizations, you get an option to set the new contact as a private contact for that particular organization connected with your organization. This means trading partners will have much better clarity about each other's contacts, enabling easier communication and ensuring privacy of those contacts at the same time.

  • Enhanced Security: 2-Factor Authentication
    The security of Asite Marketplace has been enhanced to support the Enterprise password policy for 2-Factor Authentication (2FA). To access Asite Marketplace, buyers as well as their connected suppliers must now enter the secret code emailed to their registered email address. This only applies if the policy has been enabled in buyer organization. Please contact your Administrator or the Asite Helpdesk to enable this setting.

  • Enhancement to publishing files as PDF via System Task
    Project Admins will now have an option to include status and/or POI as watermark. Additionally, you can define exceptions based on which specific text content can be configured to display if the file status or purpose of issue matches a selected value. This means you get an ability to show a meaningful watermark text on file based on its status or POI while publishing it as a PDF via system task.

    BIM Modelers can now easily calibrate their 3D model files with 2D drawings that are already stored in the CDE project folders. Project teams users can now benefit by quickly navigating the 3D models and switching to a new hybrid view that allows them to overlay and examine 3D and 2D files side-by-side. In order to save time and increase productivity, project teams can additionally measure the model, add text markup, color-code entities, and conduct cutting plane operations on the model.

    The 'Sites' listing area in the Web version has been enhanced to support customize and column filters, similar to other areas of the Asite Platform. This will be beneficial for Site users to quickly view their required columns and search for information.

  • Extending Offline working for Sites
    Project users now can also attach any images or files from their Smartphones or iPad / Tablet devices to any forms while working offline. This image / file will be automatically pushed to the Asite Cloud from the device once user is connected to internet and information is synchronized. This ensures that project teams can now work uninterrupted on remote sites with minimal or no internet connectivity.

  • Automate file status change via Visual Workflows

    Contractors usually submit a bunch of documents as part of their Submittal process. The Submittals are reviewed, commented and finally the bunch of documents need to be approved or revised to incorporate comments. The status change on individual associated files is a tedious process and subject to human errors. With introducing a new system task, now the status of all associated files to a form can be automatically updated on an occurrence of a form event, e.g. status change. This feature increases the productivity and saves time for the project teams.

    Now, using the Asite Revit plugin, 3D modellers can automatically upload a secondary Navisworks (NWC), International Foundation Class (IFC), or Autodesk (DWFx) file in addition to the primary Autodesk’s Revit (RVT) file. Model Co-ordinators will benefit from this, enabling native tools like Navisworks to swiftly retrieve the natively supported file and effectively complete their responsibilities.

    Previously Designers had to upload an image file and embed in the form layout. You can now set URLs in the image control via graphical scripting to dynamically pull image stored in a CDE project folder.

Reporting

  • Change in display of date-time while viewing/scheduling reports
    While viewing or scheduling a report from different areas within the Asite platform i.e. from 'Dashboard' or 'Reports' tab or using the 'Preview' option on report scheduler screen, it will show date and time information based on timezone as per logged in user's account.

    New events 'OnInsertRow' and 'OnDeleteRow' are available when using repeating table control in forms designed using AppBuilder tool. The 'OnInsertRow' event will be useful to define scripts when user is inserting a new row in repeating table, while the 'OnDeleteRow' event will be useful to define scripts when user is deleting a row from the repeating table.

Asite API

  • Support for chunk upload using existing Asite API method
    An existing Asite API method called 'uploadFileWithCustomAttributes' for uploading file with custom attributes is upgraded to support chunk upload. This means that uploading file with custom attributes can be managed in smaller chunks of maximum 5 MB size when using Asite API. Please note that current behavior of all API services will continue as usual and it won't be impacted by this change.
